BigBasket Shifts to Quick Commerce, Projecting $1.5 Billion Sales with 50% Revenue from Rapid Deliveries
Aug 27, 2024, 02:15 AM
Tata Digital-owned BigBasket, India's largest e-grocer known for its slotted delivery model, is making a strategic shift to become a full-scale quick commerce platform. This move comes as the demand for rapid deliveries continues to rise, blurring the lines between traditional e-grocers and horizontal e-commerce platforms. Economic Times reports that quick commerce currently accounts for 50% of BigBasket's revenue, and the company is projecting sales of $1.5 billion in the ongoing financial year. The transition involves a significant reset in the supply chain, which has been in progress for some time. Over 30% of BigBasket's sales have been coming from quick commerce since January.
