Washington Woman Calls Authorities After 100 Raccoons Surround Home Following 35 Years of Feeding
Oct 8, 2024, 08:00 PM
A woman in Poulsbo, Washington, who has been feeding raccoons for nearly four decades, was forced to call authorities after being surrounded by over 100 raccoons demanding food. The woman, who began feeding the raccoons around her house 35 years ago without any issues, noticed a sudden population explosion of the animals six weeks ago. On October 3, she contacted authorities for help when the raccoons trapped her on her property. She was quoted a price of $500 per raccoon to trap and relocate them. The raccoons often approach the home and scratch on windows and walls, and a video shows nearly 100 raccoons swarming her yard, prompting the 911 call.
