In a thrilling conclusion to the Rally Portugal held in Mortagua, Sebastien Ogier secured a record sixth victory, making him the most successful driver in the event's history. Ogier, driving for Toyota alongside co-driver Vincent Landais, finished the rally 7.9 seconds ahead of Hyundai's Ott Tanak. This win also marked Ogier's 60th World Rally Championship (WRC) victory, surpassing the record previously held by WRC legend Markku Alen. The rally featured several dramatic moments, including a significant setback for Kalle Rovanpera, who rolled out of the competition during stage 11, and Elfyn Evans, who suffered an overheating issue, effectively ending his bid for victory.
