Oracle Agrees to $115 Million Consumer Privacy Settlement
Jul 19, 2024, 03:15 PM
Oracle has agreed to pay $115 million to settle a consumer privacy class action lawsuit brought under California's wiretapping law. The lawsuit accused the database software and cloud computing company of invading people's privacy by collecting their personal information and selling it to third parties via its ID Graph service. This settlement also requires Oracle to stop data harvesting practices. The plaintiffs claimed that Oracle tracked and recorded personal information, which was then sold to third parties to help marketers connect identities across channels.
