OpenAI Increases Rate Limits for o1 API Models, o1-mini Up by 7x to 50 Messages per Day

OpenAI has announced significant increases in rate limits for its o1 API models, o1-mini and o1-preview, aimed at developers on tier 5. The rate limits for o1-preview have been increased to 100 requests per minute, while o1-mini has been increased to 250 requests per minute. Additionally, for Plus and Team users, the rate limits for o1-mini have been raised by 7x, from 50 messages per week to 50 messages per day. The rate limits for o1-preview have also been increased from 30 messages per week to 50 messages per week. OpenAI plans to continue expanding access to more tiers and further increasing rate limits in the coming weeks. OpenAI encourages users to utilize the smaller model more for cost reasons.
