Wisconsin Congressman Van Orden Allegedly Assaulted by Code Pink Member Nour Jaghama at RNC

A member of the activist group Code Pink was detained by police after allegedly assaulting Wisconsin Congressman Derrick Van Orden outside the Republican National Convention (RNC). The incident occurred while Van Orden was standing in line to enter an event. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Nour Jaghama, was arrested by a nearby police officer who witnessed the altercation. Code Pink has claimed that their member was racially profiled and has condemned the incident as an example of political and gender-based bias, including misogyny. Van Orden has described the assailant as part of the pro-Hamas group Code Pink. The group also stated that Van Orden “tried to shove past” the activist.
