Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 Returns to Gimpo After Landing Gear Issue, Following Muan Crash
Dec 30, 2024, 01:14 AM
A Jeju Air passenger jet, flight 7C101, carrying 161 passengers, experienced a landing gear issue shortly after departing from Gimpo International Airport in Seoul for Jeju on Monday. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, safely returned to Gimpo Airport. Following the incident, 21 passengers opted out of the flight, and an alternative flight was arranged for the remaining passengers. This incident follows a deadly crash involving another Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 at Muan International Airport the previous day, where the landing gear failure was a suspected cause. The South Korean authorities are set to conduct special inspections of all Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the country in response to these incidents.
