South Korea Confirms North Korea Sending Special Forces to Russia, Overseeing Missile Launches in Donetsk
Oct 20, 2024, 12:41 PM
South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) has confirmed that North Korea began sending special forces to Russia on October 8. Kim Jong-sik, a high-ranking official in North Korea's Ministry of Military Industry, was identified as overseeing missile operations for the Russian Army near Ukraine's front lines. South Korean intelligence also identified a North Korean missile engineer who was observed at Russian positions in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, managing the launch of North Korean ballistic missiles targeting Ukraine. The engineer was previously seen accompanying North Korean leader Kim Jong-un last year. Facial recognition software was used to analyze a photo allegedly taken in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
