A woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, and Sean Combs, known as Diddy, alleging that they drugged and raped her when she was 13 years old at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The complaint was amended to include Jay-Z after initially naming only Combs. Jane Doe has since acknowledged some inconsistencies in her allegations, including her father's denial of picking her up after the assault and the absence of a celebrity, Benji Madden, she claimed to have spoken to at the event. Jay-Z and his attorney Alex Spiro have vehemently denied the allegations, with Spiro seeking to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the accuser's inconsistencies and lack of evidence justify the dismissal. The legal team also criticized the accuser's attorney, Tony Buzbee, for not properly vetting the claims before filing the complaint.
