Former CIA Officer Alexander Yuk Ching Ma Sentenced to 10 Years for Spying for China

A former CIA officer, Alexander Yuk Ching Ma, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for spying for China. Ma, 71, who also worked as a contract linguist for the FBI, received cash, golf clubs, and other expensive gifts in exchange for providing top secret information to China. He was arrested in August 2020 and reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in May. In addition to his prison sentence, Ma will be subject to polygraph tests whenever requested and will have five years of supervised release following his imprisonment. The U.S. Justice Department announced the sentencing on Wednesday.
