Jul 14, 2024, 02:33 PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new milestone by becoming the most followed world leader on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with over 100 million followers. This achievement places him ahead of other prominent global figures such as US President Joe Biden, who has 38.1 million followers, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed with 11.2 million, and Pope Francis with 18.5 million. Modi's follower count saw an impressive growth of approximately 30 million users in the last three years. He joined X in 2009 and has now surpassed the follower counts of celebrities like Taylor Swift and Virat Kohli. In addition to his popularity on X, Modi also has nearly 25 million subscribers on YouTube and over 91 million followers on Instagram. Modi's followers on X outnumber the total followers of INDI Alliance Leaders. He is also the 7th Twitter/X user to cross 100 million followers. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude in a tweet, stating his appreciation for the discussions, debates, insights, and constructive criticism he receives on the platform.
