Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, underwent a successful hip replacement surgery on Saturday morning after sustaining a hip injury from a fall during a congressional delegation trip in Luxembourg. The Democratic representative fell down stairs while attending an event commemorating the Battle of the Bulge. Pelosi was initially treated at Hospital Kirchberg in Luxembourg before being airlifted to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, a U.S. military hospital in Germany, where she underwent surgery. According to her spokesperson, Ian Krager, Pelosi is 'well on the mend' and expressed gratitude to the U.S. military staff at Landstuhl and the medical staff at Hospital Kirchberg.
