Elon Musk Becomes Trump's Second-Largest Donor with Contributions Over $118 Million
Oct 25, 2024, 03:21 AM
Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of X (formerly Twitter), has significantly increased his financial support for former President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. According to recent federal filings, Musk donated an additional $43.6 million to America PAC, a super PAC supporting Trump and other Republican candidates, in the first half of October. This brings his total contributions to the PAC to over $118 million, though some reports indicate that his total donations may have reached $132 million, making him Trump's second-largest financial backer after Timothy Mellon, who has contributed $150 million. His substantial contributions are aimed at bolstering get-out-the-vote efforts and door-knocking operations in swing states to elevate his allies to the White House and Congress.
