The Democratic Republic of Congo is set to launch its first mpox vaccination campaign this weekend, beginning on Saturday in the city of Goma. The campaign comes nearly two months after mpox outbreaks in Africa were declared a global emergency. The DRC, considered the epicenter of the outbreak, had initially planned to start vaccinations three days earlier but faced delays. The initiative aims to curb the spread of the disease in one of the hardest-hit regions.
