Minterest on Mantle Chain Hacked for $1.4 Million, Operations Paused
Jul 16, 2024, 07:09 AM
Minterest, a cryptocurrency lending protocol on the Mantle chain, was hacked on July 14, 2024, resulting in a loss of approximately $1.4 million. The attackers exploited a vulnerability in the lending contracts, allowing them to lend tokens inside flashloan callbacks and redeem more tokens after the flashloan. The stolen funds were bridged to the Ethereum chain and subsequently transferred to TornadoCash, with 435 $ETH sent to address 0x618F768aF6291705Eb13E0B2E96600b3851911D1. Minterest has temporarily paused its 'Supply & Borrow' and 'Repay & Borrow' operations while an investigation is underway.
