Meta Platforms Inc. has announced the termination of its major diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, effective immediately, according to an internal memo obtained by Axios. The changes include ending DEI-focused initiatives in hiring, training, and supplier selection. The company will no longer have teams devoted to DEI, will eliminate representation goals for hiring women and minorities, and will cease partnerships with minority-owned suppliers. The memo cites a "changing legal and policy landscape surrounding" DEI efforts as the reason for the rollback.
