Lando Norris secured his first-ever F1 sprint race victory at the 2024 Brazil GP in Interlagos, Sao Paulo, leading a McLaren 1-2 finish. Oscar Piastri, who started on pole, moved aside to let Norris through and finished second. Max Verstappen finished third but is under investigation for a Virtual Safety Car infringement. The race, which spanned 24 laps, saw a late Virtual Safety Car deployment due to Nico Hulkenberg's Haas stopping on track, which helped McLaren maintain their positions. Other top finishers included Charles Leclerc in fourth, Carlos Sainz in fifth, and George Russell in sixth. Verstappen's championship lead is now 45 points.
