Outside Magazine Acquires MapMyFitness Apps from Under Armour for $150 Million After 11 Years
Sep 5, 2024, 09:01 AM
Outside Magazine has acquired the MapMyFitness suite of apps from Under Armour. This acquisition is particularly significant for Outside's CEO, Robin Thurston, who originally founded MapMyFitness in 2007 before selling it to Under Armour for $150 million in 2013. The deal, which had been underway for several months, includes the popular MapMyRun app among several fitness tracking applications. The acquisition comes 11 years after Under Armour initially purchased MapMyFitness.
