Hall of Famer Lydia Ko Wins Gold in Paris, Completes Olympic Medal Set
Aug 10, 2024, 04:54 PM
Lydia Ko, a 27-year-old golfer from New Zealand and a Hall of Famer, has won the gold medal in the women's golf event at the Paris Olympics, completing her collection of Olympic medals with a gold, silver, and bronze. Ko's victory in Paris follows her previous achievements of winning a silver medal in Rio 2016 and a bronze in Tokyo 2021. Esther Henseleit from Germany secured the silver medal, finishing two strokes behind Ko, while China's Xiyu Lin took the bronze, finishing a further stroke behind. This victory marks Ko's third Olympic medal and her announcement that it will be her last Olympics. Ko has been a dominant force in Olympic golf, having been beaten by only three competitors across the last three Olympic Games.
