VisitLula Moves to Semi-Intensive Care in São Paulo After Brain Surgery
Dec 13, 2024, 05:09 PM
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been discharged from the intensive care unit (ICU) and is now under semi-intensive care at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo, following two surgical procedures to address an intracranial hemorrhage. Lula, who had been hospitalized since experiencing severe headaches, underwent an emergency surgery on Tuesday to drain the bleeding and a preventive procedure on Thursday to minimize the risk of further hemorrhages. According to medical reports, Lula is now lucid, oriented, eating normally, and has been walking through the hospital corridors. He expressed gratitude for the support received and reassured the public of his condition, stating he is 'firm and strong' and looking forward to returning home and resuming his duties. The president is expected to be discharged early next week.
