At Confirmation Hearing, Hegseth Declines Warren's 10-Year Pledge, Says 'I'm Not a General'

She asked, "Will you agree when you leave the Defense Department, you won't work for the defense industry for 10 years?" Hegseth replied, "Not even something I've thought about." Warren pressed further, "So every general should wait 10 years, but not you?" Hegseth responded, "I'm not a general, Senator," eliciting laughter from the audience.
