LeBron James Named Team USA Flag Bearer, First Men's Basketball Player to Receive Honor

LeBron James has been selected as Team USA's male flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. James, a four-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, is the first U.S. men's basketball player to receive this honor. He was chosen by a vote among his fellow Olympians and will lead the American athletes during the Parade of Nations. The female flag bearer who will accompany James will be announced on Tuesday. James joins previous U.S. basketball players Dawn Staley (2004) and Sue Bird (2021) in carrying the flag for Team USA. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, July 26, along the River Seine.
