Ladakh Achieves Full Literacy with Over 97% Under ULLAS Program

Ladakh has been declared the first administrative unit in India to achieve full functional literacy under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram. The announcement was made by Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) during the ULLAS Mela at the Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra in Leh on 24 June 2024. The region achieved more than 97% literacy, reflecting its commitment to empowering communities through education. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy.
