Cubs Acquire Kyle Tucker from Astros for Paredes, Wesneski, and Prospect Cam Smith
Dec 13, 2024, 07:39 PM
The Chicago Cubs have acquired star outfielder Kyle Tucker in a trade with the Houston Astros. In exchange, the Astros will receive infielder Isaac Paredes, right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski, and third base prospect Cam Smith, who is ranked No. 73 overall by MLB Pipeline. The deal is pending medical evaluations. Tucker, who was on pace for an MVP-level season before suffering a leg injury in June, posted a 180 wRC+ and 4.2 fWAR in 339 plate appearances. This acquisition marks a significant addition to the Cubs' lineup, making Tucker arguably their best position player since the early years of Kris Bryant.
