Ko Wen-je, former mayor of Taipei and leader of the Taiwan People's Party, has been arrested following a lengthy interrogation. The arrest is part of a graft probe into a property development scandal that took place during his tenure as mayor from 2014 to 2022. Ko, who also ran as a presidential candidate, was questioned for nearly 19 hours before his arrest. The investigation focuses on his alleged involvement in the Core Pacific City corruption scandal.
