Kenmore Pest Control & Termite Services LLC, a Maryland-based pest control company, will be fined $125,000 in civil penalties for the illegal application of pesticides. The D.C. Attorney General, Brian L. Schwalb, announced that the company was accused of polluting the district with toxic chemicals by using restricted pesticides near apartment complexes. The investigation revealed that these highly toxic pesticides were applied around residential areas, putting people and pets at risk. The company has agreed to pay nearly $140,000 in civil penalties and cleanup costs.
