CAS Ruling Confirms U.S. Skaters as 2022 Olympic Gold Medalists; Medals to be Awarded on August 7 in Paris
Jul 25, 2024, 08:54 PM
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed the appeals in the Kamila Valieva case, confirming the U.S. figure skating team as gold medalists from the 2022 Olympics. This ruling opens the way for the U.S. skaters to receive their medals at the Paris Summer Games. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has signed off on an August 7 ceremony in Paris, where the U.S. team will be awarded their gold medals, and the Japanese team will receive their silver medals. The ceremony will take place exactly two and a half years after the competition ended in Beijing. Nine Olympians on the U.S. figure skating team will finally get their gold medals.
