VisitKamala Harris Campaign Raises $231 Million in 24 Hours, $1 Billion in Less Than an Hour
Jul 26, 2024, 12:52 AM
Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign has achieved historic fundraising success following President Joe Biden's endorsement. Since Sunday, the campaign has raised $126 million from over 1.4 million grassroots donors, with 64% being first-time contributors. In the first 24 hours alone, the campaign raised $81 million, and within 48 hours, small donors contributed over $154 million on ActBlue. Additionally, Harris's campaign has seen significant volunteer engagement, with nearly 100,000 people signing up to volunteer and over 2,000 applying to work for the campaign. A notable fundraising event was a Zoom call organized by 'White Women for Kamala Harris,' which broke records with over 150,000 participants and raised more than $2 million. The campaign also benefits from the $240 million cash on hand at launch and is in discussions to inherit $91.5 million from Biden's leftover campaign funds. Furthermore, the campaign raised $1 billion in less than an hour, $231 million in the first 24 hours, and $130 million in total. Contributions also included $1.3 million raised by 50,000 Black men, and the campaign signed up 58,000 volunteers in the first 36 hours.
