Justin Herbert Throws Career-High Four Interceptions Against Texans, Surpassing Season Total
Jan 12, 2025, 12:15 AM
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw only three interceptions during the entire 2024 regular season over 17 games and 504 pass attempts, has thrown four interceptions in today's playoff game against the Houston Texans on just 26 passing attempts. This marks the first time in his NFL or college career that Herbert has thrown three or more interceptions in a single game. Herbert's completion rate stands at just 46.4%, which would be the lowest in any game of his collegiate or professional career. He joins Tom Brady (2016) as the only quarterback to throw over 200 passes in the regular season and then throw as many interceptions in a playoff game as he did during the regular season, with both games coming against Houston. The Texans' defense has capitalized on Herbert's uncharacteristic performance, intercepting him four times. Herbert's previous game with multiple interceptions was in Week 7 of the 2023 season against the Kansas City Chiefs.
