Johnson & Johnson Boosts Baby Powder Settlement Offer to Over $8.2 Billion
Sep 20, 2024, 03:31 PM
Johnson & Johnson has increased its settlement offer to over $8.2 billion to resolve thousands of lawsuits alleging that its baby powder caused cancer. This new offer, up from the previous $6.5 billion, aims to settle claims that the talc-based product led to ovarian cancer. The company's subsidiary, Red River Talc LLC, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the third time to facilitate the settlement. A majority of baby powder users have agreed to back the settlement, which Johnson & Johnson hopes will put an end to years of litigation.
