John Curtis Wins 2024 Utah GOP Senate Primary, Defeats Trump-Endorsed Trent Staggs

John Curtis has officially won the 2024 Utah Senate Republican Primary, defeating Mayor Trent Staggs, who was endorsed by President Trump. Curtis, who has not endorsed Trump and previously criticized the border wall, is a member of the Main Street GOP Partnership and was supported by Mitt Romney. Curtis is now positioned to succeed Sen. Mitt Romney in the general election. Curtis founded the House Conservative Climate Caucus and led his opponents by more than 26 percentage points in the primary election results. The Decision Desk HQ projected Curtis's victory on June 26, 2024, at 10:10pm ET.
