The plane, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, was carrying 179 passengers and crew from Thailand to South Korea when it crashed upon landing at Muan International Airport. The police have banned Jeju Air CEO Kim E-bae from leaving the country, considering him an important witness, as they investigate charges of professional negligence resulting in death. Authorities are conducting safety inspections on all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by the country's carriers.
