Navy Veteran Jay Furman Wins Republican Primary Runoff for U.S. House Texas' 28th District

Jay Furman has officially won the Republican primary runoff for Texas' 28th Congressional District. Furman, a Navy veteran, defeated rancher Lazaro Garza Jr. in the runoff. He will now face incumbent Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar in the November election. Cuellar is currently under indictment. Furman is expected to join the House Freedom Caucus if elected. The runoff was held on Tuesday, and Furman secured the Republican seat for the U.S. House.
