Jason Sargeant Arrested for Slashing Imani-Ciara Pizarro in Neck and Man in Wrist at NYC's Grand Central Terminal on Christmas Eve
Dec 25, 2024, 06:17 PM
A 28-year-old man, Jason Sargeant, was arrested following a series of knife attacks at New York City's Grand Central Terminal on Christmas Eve. The attacks, which occurred around 10:15 p.m., resulted in a 26-year-old woman, Imani-Ciara Pizarro, being slashed in the neck and a 42-year-old man being slashed in the wrist. Both victims were hospitalized in stable condition. Sargeant, who has three prior arrests, was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, harassment, and disorderly conduct. Pizarro, who was heading to her job at the Roosevelt Hotel after getting off the 4 train, reported that no one came to her aid during the attack, and she had to seek help from her neighbor who called 911. The incident has heightened concerns about subway safety in New York City, especially following a recent murder on a subway train.
