The United Nations General Assembly has approved a resolution to convene a high-level peace conference in June 2025, aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The conference, to be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, seeks to advance the two-state solution. The resolution also calls for Israel to withdraw from territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, and emphasizes the need for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in West Asia. The vote saw 157 countries in favor, with eight against, including Israel, the United States, and Argentina.
