Paul Di'Anno, born Paul Andrews, the former lead singer of Iron Maiden who appeared on the band's first two albums, has died at the age of 66. Di'Anno passed away at his home in Wiltshire, England on October 21, 2024. His death was announced by his label, Conquest Music; the cause of death was not disclosed, but he had been struggling with health issues for several years. Iron Maiden acknowledged his passing with a statement saying, "Paul's contribution to Iron Maiden was immense and helped set us on the path we have been travelling as a band for almost five decades. His pioneering presence as a frontman was unforgettable." Di'Anno fronted Iron Maiden from 1978 to 1981, lending his vocals to their debut albums "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" before being replaced by Bruce Dickinson. Fellow musicians and fans have paid tribute to Di'Anno, remembering him as a "true rock legend" and celebrating his impact on heavy metal.
