Iran Boosts Military Drills Near Natanz, Unveils Underground Facilities Amid Tensions
Jan 7, 2025, 05:54 AM
Iran has intensified its military activities, launching a series of large-scale drills across the country, including a significant air defense exercise near the Natanz nuclear facility. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force initiated the 'Eqtedar 1403' drills, aimed at testing readiness to protect the sensitive site from potential attacks. These exercises come amid heightened tensions with Israel and in anticipation of Donald Trump's return to power. The IRGC has nearly doubled its annual winter military exercises, with around 30 land, air, and naval drills planned across six provinces, continuing until mid-March. The drills are designed to counter new threats, with the IRGC spokesperson, Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, stating that Iran is prepared for large and complex battles on any scale. Additionally, Iran plans to unveil new underground facilities for missiles and drones during these exercises, showcasing its growing strategic capabilities.
