DRDO Conducts Three Successful Tests of Indigenous VSHORADS at Pokhran, Demonstrating Hit-to-Kill Capability
Oct 5, 2024, 10:06 AM
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India has successfully conducted three flight tests of the indigenous 4th Generation Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) at the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan. The tests, carried out in a series of trials against high-speed aerial targets, demonstrated the system's repeatability of "hit-to-kill" capability in various target engagements, validating critical parameters such as maximum range and maximum altitude interception. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, the Indian Army, and the industry partners involved in developing the technically advanced, miniaturized weapon system. The successful tests enhance India's air defence capabilities against aerial threats.
