Ian McKellen to Return as Gandalf in 'Hunt for Gollum' After Taking Year Off
Sep 2, 2024, 08:57 AM
British actor Sir Ian McKellen has revealed he feared for his life after a stage fall in London in June. The actor, known for his role as Gandalf in the 'Lord of the Rings' series, stated that a fat suit he wore for his role as Falstaff in a Shakespearean play helped mitigate his injuries. Despite the fall, McKellen has no plans to retire and intends to continue acting as long as his health permits. He is dealing with emotional residues from the incident and plans to take the rest of the year off. McKellen has been approached to reprise his role as Gandalf in the upcoming film 'The Hunt for Gollum', which is part of the 'Lord of the Rings' franchise. However, McKellen mentioned that the script for the film is not yet written, urging the creators to expedite the process.
