Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain and Trump-endorsed candidate, has won the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat in Virginia. Cao, a highly respected combat veteran and decorated Special Operations Officer, secured the nomination with 65.9% of the vote. He will face incumbent Democratic Senator Tim Kaine in the general election this November. The Virginia GOP primary, held on June 18th, saw Cao defeating establishment-backed Scott Parkinson and four other Republican rivals.
