VisitIsrael Conducts Airstrikes on Yemen's Al-Hudaydah Port Fuel Depots in Retaliation for Houthi Drone Attack
Jul 20, 2024, 04:13 PM
Israeli fighter jets, including 12 warplanes and F-35 aircraft, conducted a series of airstrikes on Yemen's Al-Hudaydah port, targeting fuel depots and other military sites controlled by the Houthi regime. The strikes, which resulted in massive fires and significant damage, were carried out in retaliation for a recent Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured several others. This marks the first Israeli airstrike on Yemen since October 7. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strikes, stating they were in response to hundreds of attacks on Israel by the Houthis in recent months. Yemeni defense forces responded by firing surface-to-air missiles at the attacking planes. Casualties have been reported, and the Houthis have vowed to retaliate.
