The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, has announced that the military is preparing for a possible ground invasion of Lebanon. This preparation comes amid ongoing airstrikes targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure. Halevi emphasized the goal of these operations is to degrade Hezbollah's capabilities, destroy the enemy, and decisively destroy Hezbollah's infrastructure. He mentioned that planes are attacking all day to prepare the ground for potential entry by Israeli forces. The IDF's Northern Command Chief, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, has also called for readiness for a ground offensive against Hezbollah.
