Israel Prepares for Ground Invasion After Hezbollah Qadr-1 Missile Attack on Tel Aviv
Sep 25, 2024, 10:00 AM
Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated significantly. On September 24, Hezbollah launched several explosive-laden drones targeting the Israeli Navy's Atlit base, which houses the Shayetet 13 commando unit. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that two of the three drones were intercepted, causing slight damage and sparking a fire near Atlit. On September 25, Hezbollah fired a surface-to-surface Qadr-1 missile at Tel Aviv, targeting the Mossad headquarters. The missile was intercepted by Israel's David's Sling system, causing no injuries. In response, the IDF conducted airstrikes on the missile launcher in southern Lebanon and additional Hezbollah targets. Following these attacks, Israel's military chief, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, announced preparations for a potential ground invasion of Lebanon, activating two reserve brigades. The situation remains tense as both sides brace for further conflict.
