In southern Vietnam, an outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu virus has led to the deaths of 47 tigers, 3 lions, and a panther in various zoos and possibly at a wildlife reserve, according to state media and health ministry reports. Tests confirmed that at least one of the deceased animals was positive for the H5N1 strain, and no symptoms have been recorded among people exposed to the infected animals.
