Grand Blanc's Grant Fisher Wins Bronze in 10,000m at Paris 2024 Olympics with 26:43.46
Aug 2, 2024, 08:37 PM
Grant Fisher from Grand Blanc made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the bronze medal in the men's 10,000 meters. Fisher's time of 26:43.46 not only secured him the third-place finish but also marked the first medal for Team USA in the event since 2012. This achievement makes Fisher the second American in 56 years to medal in the 10,000 meters, joining the ranks of Lewis Tewanima, Billy Mills, and Galen Rupp. The former Stanford runner narrowly missed the silver in a photo finish. Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda won the gold with an Olympic record time of 26:43.14, while Berihu Aregawi of Ethiopia took the silver. Canada's Moh Ahmed finished fourth, achieving the best-ever finish for a Canadian in this event.
