Actor and Shiv Sena Leader Govinda Hospitalized After Accidental Shooting at Mumbai Home
Oct 1, 2024, 05:14 AM
Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was hospitalized in Mumbai on Tuesday after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The incident occurred around 4:45 AM at his Juhu residence when the revolver misfired as he was preparing to leave for a flight to Kolkata. He was reportedly putting the gun into a cupboard when it fell and discharged, striking him near the knee. Govinda was rushed to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. He is currently in the intensive care unit but is reported to be in stable condition. His daughter Tina Ahuja and nephew Vinay Anand visited him at the hospital, as did actress Kashmera Shah. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke with Govinda to inquire about his health and instructed hospital authorities to provide the best care. Govinda released an audio message thanking fans and doctors for their support, stating that he is recovering well. Police have seized his revolver and are investigating the incident, including awaiting ballistic reports.
