VisitGoogle Proposes Changes to Search Results in EU, Tests Blue Link Results
Nov 26, 2024, 08:29 AM
Google has proposed further changes to its search results in Europe to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA). These changes include removing the map showing hotel locations and results in Germany, Belgium, and Estonia, as well as testing plain 'blue link' results for hotel searches in EU markets. The proposals come in response to complaints from smaller rivals about decreased traffic to their sites resulting from previous tweaks by Google. The EU antitrust regulators are considering levying charges against the company, prompting Google to make these adjustments to prevent favoring its own services over competitors.
