Crunchyroll to Premiere 'Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' Anime in 2027, Announced at Sony's CES

Sony's Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Studios, has announced an anime adaptation of the 'Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' cooperative multiplayer experience from the popular video game 'Ghost of Tsushima.' The announcement was made during Sony's 2025 CES press conference. The series, set to premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027, will be directed by Takanobu Mizuno, with Gen Urobuchi handling the story composition and animation by Kamikaze Douga. The project aims to bring the game's traditional samurai aesthetics to life with cinematic storytelling and striking visuals. This marks the first anime adaptation of a PlayStation Studios game, showcasing the creative synergy within the Sony family. 'Ghost of Tsushima' has sold over 13 million copies globally since its debut in 2020. Additionally, Sucker Punch Productions is working on a sequel, 'Ghost of Yōtei,' set to release in 2025.
