Germany Halts Supply of Heavy Military Equipment, Including Leopard Tanks, to Ukraine
Oct 13, 2024, 07:44 AM
Germany has decided to halt the supply of heavy military equipment to Ukraine, according to reports from Bild. The decision is based on the belief that Ukraine will not be able to launch a counteroffensive in the near future. The halted supplies include infantry fighting vehicles, howitzers, and Leopard tanks. Although Germany had announced new aid, it was revealed that this aid pertains to previously promised deliveries. The Bundeswehr still has around 300 armored vehicles. Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for permission to strike Russia with Western weapons and for a guarantee of quick accession to NATO, which Scholz ignored.
