France Denies 4,340 Olympics Accreditations Over Security Concerns
Jul 21, 2024, 01:28 PM
French authorities have denied accreditation to over 4,340 applicants for the 2024 Paris Games, citing security concerns. Among those barred are nearly 100 foreign journalists, physiotherapists, and technical staff. The decision, announced by French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, was made out of precautionary principles and fears of potential espionage. Some of the rejected applicants were suspected of having radical Islamist connections or being foreign spies.
